Prestigious biennial award for internationally acclaimed researchers in (translational) cancer research and compassionate cancer patient care.
The KNAW Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award is intended explicitly for a researcher (or team of researchers) whose past or present contribution to (translational) cancer research and compassionate cancer patient care is regarded as outstanding. The award winner receives a bronze sculpture in the form of Professor Pinedo’s hand, symbolising both strength and hope of healing, along with EUR 100,000.
This award is offered by the Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award Foundation. Since 2016, the Foundation has entrusted the selection of the award winner to the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
Both institutes and individual researchers are welcome to nominate a candidate or a team of candidates for the KNAW Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award.
Nominations can be submitted up until 1 May 2020 using the offical nomination form on the Academy website.
